The University Interscholastic League will announce its district realignment for the 2026-2028 cycle on Feb. 2, and we’re making predictions about where Dallas-area 6A and 5A schools will land.
The UIL released classification cutoff numbers and school enrollments at the end of last year.
Notes: Garland Lakeview, Rowlett, South Garland and Garland will opt up to 6A, even though their enrollments would have put them in 5A Division I.
Garland Naaman Forest’s enrollment dropped to 1,822, which is a 5A Division II number, but a UIL rule prohibits schools from opting up more than one division for football, so Naaman Forest will be in 5A Division I for the next two years.
High School Sports
DeSoto, which has a 5A Division I enrollment number for the upcoming realignment, hasn’t announced if it will play there or opt up to 6A like it did two years ago.
Carrollton Creekview’s enrollment places it in 5A Division II, but it may opt up to 5A Division I to play with other Carrollton schools.
