El Paso city officials are set to host a community meeting tonight to discuss a significant road project aimed at improving access to the Enchanted Hills neighborhood in West El Paso. The $19 million project will extend Relser Drive from Loop 375 to Dewberry Drive, creating a new four-lane divided roadway.
This initiative, funded through the 2022 Community Progress Bond Program, includes sidewalks, landscaping improvements, streetlights, new drainage structures and a public art component.

City Council Representative Alejandra Chavez, who oversees the area, noted that the design is about 60% complete and emphasized the project’s importance for quicker access for first responders to homes and schools, including a new Canutillo ISD elementary school set to open in 2027. “We want the community to come give us their feedback on the artwork that’s going to be displayed, the street itself, and just give information to the community because this is a big project for this community in terms of access,” Chavez said.

The open house will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Hospitals of Providence Transmountain Campus, where artists involved in the project will also be present to share designs and gather feedback from residents.
