“American Idol” returns with Season 24 Monday, Jan. 26 and El Pasoans may have someone to root for.

Country singer Julian Kalel posted on his Instagram that he can’t wait for people to watch the show.

“My audition airs Monday, Feb 2! Still feels unreal — I can’t wait to share this moment with you all. Let’s do this El Paso!” he stated on his Instagram page.

Kalel said he was excited to be able to audition in front of “American Idol” judges Lionel Richie, Carrie Underwood, and Luke Bryan.

“Since I began writing music, I dreamed of one day being on a stage where others who fought everyday battles could see how vulnerability and struggle can carry meaning beyond pain, and that staying another day is about more than survival – it’s about believing in yourself,” he wrote on his page.

Kalel said in an interview with City Magazine that music has been his way to heal from struggles with mental health.

He has been busy recording in Nashville and has a song, “Daring to Dream,” he’s promoting.

Where to watch “American Idol”

“American Idol” airs at 6 p.m. MT/7 CT Monday on the ABC Network. “American Idol” Season 24 will be available to stream the following day on Hulu.
