EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A man has turned himself in after a deadly crash on New Year’s Day in northeast El Paso.
The man identified as 48-year-old Abel Garcia of Chaparral, New Mexico, turned himself in on Wednesday.
Garcia is charged with Intoxication Manslaughter.
Garcia had an outstanding warrant for Family Violence at the time.
The deadly crash happened at the intersection of Gateway North and Sean Hagerty early on Jan. 1.
The collision involved a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado pickup and a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro.

The crash resulted in the death of 18-year-old Angelique Diaz De Leon, a resident of Northeast El Paso, Texas, who was a passenger in the Camaro.
A 19-year-old was driving the Camaro, who was also injured and taken to the hospital.
According to the preliminary investigation by the Special Traffic Investigations unit, the Camaro was traveling east on Sean Hagerty when it was T-boned by the pickup truck in the intersection.
Authorities have identified a red-light violation by the pickup truck driven by Garcia as a contributing factor in the collision, and they are investigating the possibility that alcohol may have played a role.
