Zoo animals and their caretakers hunkered down for several days in Fort Worth, Texas, as a widespread winter storm affected dozens of states on Sunday, January 25.
Footage shows porcupine Penelope tasting a bowl of snow during Sunday’s storm, which brought snow to the Fort Worth area.
The zoo said it would operate on a delayed opening schedule on Thursday, welcoming visitors back beginning at noon.
“Thank you for your understanding and patience — we can’t wait to have y’all back!” the zoo said on X. “For now, enjoy some snowy Penelope smacks that Keeper Jessi captured during the freeze!” Credit: Fort Worth Zoo via Storyful
