District play is in full swing for Central Texas boys basketball and soccer teams. Here is a roundup of the all-star performances from Wednesday’s (Jan. 28) action.

Basketball

District 25-6A

Westwood 86, Manor 50: Sumner Holland hit seven 3-pointers for all of his 21 points and Luke Carpenter scored 20 points, crossing the 1,000-point mark for his career, to lead the Warriors (24-2, 11-0), who have won 21 straight. Landeyn Vallery added 14 points for Westwood.

Round Rock 60, Cedar Ridge 45: The Dragons (20-6, 9-2) won their fifth in a row as Aaron Epstein tallied 14 points and five rebounds and Javeon Taylor finished with 13 points. Teyo Barnett added nine points and Matthew Holland had a good all-around game of eight points, six assists, four rebounds and four steals in other notable performances for Round Rock. 

Vandegrift 72, Vista Ridge 37: Henry Defoore scored 17 points and Hayden Brannan finished with 16 points as the Vipers (22-6, 8-2) stayed in a tie for second place in the district. 

District 26-6A

Lake Travis 62, Del Valle 48: The Cavs (21-7, 7-0) stayed undefeated in district play behind Will Slyker’s 22 points, Aaron Mathis’ 13 points, eight rebounds and five assists and Alex Jacob’s 12 points.

Westlake 42, Austin High 36: Bo Ogden scored 16 points and both Blake Cannatti and Powell Frickenschmidt hit important shots down the stretch as the Chaps (22-6, 6-1) stayed in second place in the district. 

Bowie 68, Dripping Springs 53: Joshua Baskin scored 18 points and Derrick Osobase added 10 points as the Bulldogs (24-5, 5-2) moved closer to securing a playoff berth. 

District 29-6A

Johnson 46, San Marcos 44: Jace Tello’s 12 points and Jordan Brown’s 11 points paced the Jaguars in the victory. Aden Dorantes’ 17 points and Tytan Crayton’s eight points and seven rebounds highlighted San Marcos’ effort.

District 23-5A

Pflugerville 70, East View 68: The Panthers (7-19, 4-3) boosted their playoff hopes with the win behind Jayden Johnson’s 20 points and nine rebounds and Osa Edo’s 18 points. Cayden Hinderman-Close poured in 26 points and Damonie Jackson had 13 points and nine assists to lead the Patriots. 

Hendrickson 59, Weiss 54: DJ Hardge hit five 3-pointers and scored 20 points and Ryan Longoria finished with 12 points to pace the Hawks (23-6, 7-0) to their 15th win in a row. Skyler Elliott tallied eight points, six assists and four steals and Legend Samuel had eight points in other notable performances for Hendrickson. 

District 24-5A

Anderson 79, Cedar Creek 41: Miles Rickards scored 17 points to lead five Trojans in double figures. Damari Perkins finished with 12 points, both Noah Perkins and Nick Briggs had 11 points and Austin Haywood tallied 11 points and eight rebounds in a balanced effort for Anderson (14-15, 7-0), which remained undefeated in district play.

McCallum 54, Crockett 46: Miller Stephens hit for 17 points and Joe Alvarez finished with 10 points as the Knights (12-12, 6-1) won their fifth straight game. Will Garnes added seven points for McCallum. 

Bastrop 82, Navarro 26: Brent Carter had a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds and Rydan Alvarez (14 points), Brayden Sanchez (13) and Preston Alexander (12) all reached double figures in scoring for the Bears (14-15, 5-2) in the win. 

District 25-5A

Glenn 70, Lehman 48: Justin Lee (12 points), Mikai Etiobhio (11) and Malik Etiobhio (10) all reached double figures in scoring and both Qaylen Davis and Dallas Hernandez taliied nine points as the Grizzlies (20-9, 9-0) stayed atop the district standings.

Rouse 69, Hays 58: Trey Nielson’s 23 points and five assists and DJ Gardner’s 19 points, nine rebounds and four assists led the Raiders (16-12, 5-3) to a key district win. 

Leander 44, Cedar Park 24: Gage Faglie tallied 10 points and six rebounds and Soren Leavitt finished with 10 points and four boards as the Lions (10-15, 5-3) took a giant step toward the playoffs. 

Liberty Hill 82, Lockhart 39: Jacob McLeod recorded a double-double of 27 points and 10 steals as the Panthers (17-9, 6-2) stayed in second place in the district with the win. McLeod also made six assists. 

District 25-4A

LBJ 46, Lago Vista 42: DJ Johnson (16 points), Tre Riley (14) and Marquis Murry II all reached double digits in scoring as the Jaguars (16-12, 8-0) won their ninth straight.

Manor New Tech 52, Northeast 42: Both Isaiah Kinard (18 points, 10 rebounds) and Kingston Colter (11 points, 12 rebounds) had double-doubles and Legend Williams finished with 10 points to lead the Titans (23-4, 7-1).

Brentwood Christian 61, Hyde Park 34: Aiden Ott and Zach Czerlinsky both scored 15 points and Caleb Catron and Luke Week each had 10 points as the Bears (13-14, 4-2 District 2-5A) took a big step toward qualifying for the postseason.

Bowie 3, Del Valle 1: Isaiah Lopez recorded a hat trick as the Bulldogs stayed undefeated.

Austin High 4, Dripping Springs 2: Ethan Forchione scored two goals and Diego Montoya and Leo Ivey each found the net to lead the Maroons to an important early district win. Trip Dickens and Trey Gonczeruk both had a goal and assist for the Tigers. 

Westlake 3, Akins 0: Mateo Gorman’s brace, Max Sauceda’s goal and assists from Yaniv Dajman, Gavin Chibib and Adam Hollander paced the Chaps in their first district game. Shepherd Neville had the shutout in goal for Westlake. 

District 25-6A

Round Rock 1, Hutto 0: Alex Isaacson’s goal off an assist from Keylan Mandeville and Xander Baldwin’s shutout led the Dragons to the win.

Vandegrift 4, Cedar Ridge 0: Luke Hawley scored twice and had an assist and Grant Teodecki and Milan Sunder both had goals to pace the Vipers. Abdullah Altuwaijri provided the clean sheet for Vandegrift. 

McNeil 2, Vista Ridge 1: Maury Pawlowski and Ethan Miranda scored to lead the Mavericks to the win. 

District 23-5A

Elgin 4, Weiss 1: Mario Hernandez, Diego Ramirez, Diego Carbajal and Kennedy Wendo all scored for the Wildcats.

Connally 0, Pflugerville 0: Alan Valenzuela had the shutout for Connally and Garrett Morales provided the clean sheet for Pflugerville. 

East View 0, Georgetown 0: Adriel Torres recorded the clean sheet for East View and Alex Hernandez had the shutout for Georgetown. 

District 24-5A

Anderson 6, Crockett 0: Dax Popelka, Kean Olles and Joseluis Diaz all had a goal and assist and Hugo Sanchez, Trevor Rener and Mathias Ripoll all scored as the Trojans rolled to the win.

LASA 4, McCallum 0: Kiran Kini had a hat trick and Jacob Cruz scored to lead the Raptors to an impressive win. Eamon Griffin and Marco Vidal combined for the clean sheet. 

Bastrop 2, Cedar Creek 0: Franklin Gutierrez-Martinez scored off an assist from Gael Ramirez and Gavin Meraz recorded a shutout in goal to lead the Bears. 

District 25-5A

Rouse 2, Liberty Hill 1: Conner Courville’s brace and an assist from Brayden Ryan paced the Raiders.

Cedar Park 4, Lehman 1: Moritz Remark and Munachi Ajanwachuku both had two goals and Jack Girardeau provided two assists to lead the Timberwolves. Aleksandr Fomin and Landon Zwiener also added assists for Cedar Park.Â
