Baldwin said four employees who were inside the business at the time of the raid were arrested. She added that investigators also cited an estimated 20 to 25 patrons who were allegedly gambling inside the location.
“We seized all of the gaming devices, and any of the cash that was inside was also seized,” she said.
Baldwin warned that illegal game rooms continue to operate throughout the city and urged residents to understand the risks of participating in illegal gambling.
“I will tell you that the game rooms are still illegal,” Baldwin said. “If you’re getting paid out cash, it’s illegal.”
She added that payouts exceeding $20 are considered illegal under state law and could result in citations for patrons.
Baldwin said CCPD encourages residents to seek out legal forms of gambling and avoid illegal operations.
