The fairgrounds in Robstown will be hosting several matches featuring Corpus Christi boxers.

ROBSTOWN, Texas — It should be a fun night Saturday in Robstown when the Richard M. Borchard Fairgrounds host the “Gulf Coast Glory” boxing event.

Multiple local boxers will be featured on the card including in the co-main event. “The Corpus Christi Kid” Jerry Belmontes (21-10) will be returning to the ring for the first time in 10 years when he faces Ousmane Sylla (5-6-2). The 37-year-old Belmontes said he’s making the comeback to help give back to the community with a local fight.

Corpus Christi native “King Julian” Delgado (8-1) will be in his tenth professional fight when he takes on Ezequiel Duran (4-1).

Local heavyweight Juan Garza (3-0) will be facing Jeremiah Wallace (0-1). For Garza, it’ll be his first time back in the ring in almost seven years.

The gates open to the public at 5 PM Saturday.
