EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Two teens were arrested in connection with a deadly shooting in far east El Paso last year.
Deputies arrested 17-year-old Giovanni Alberto Gutierrez and 17-year-old Gael Adrian Rodriguez.
Both have been charged with murder.
The victim, 39-year-old Jose Sanchez Garcia, was found with a gunshot wound to the torso and later died from his injuries on Dec. 16, 2025.
The incident happened on the 14100 block of Fortuna on November 14, 2025, around 3 a.m.
Upon arrival, deputies located Sanchez Garcia, who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso.
Sanchez Garcia was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit, in collaboration with the Texas Rangers, conducted an extensive investigation leading to the arrests.
Sheriff Oscar Ugarte expressed gratitude for the collaboration, stating, “We will continue working to ensure justice is served and offenders are held accountable.”
Both suspects are being held without bond.
