Texas basketballĀ reaches the midway point of its SEC schedule in a precarious position when it comes to NCAA Tournament possibilities. The Longhorns, squarely on the selection bubble with a NET ranking of No. 41, have won just three of their nine Quad 1 games. But they have a chance at another coveted Quad 1 win Saturday against Oklahoma, which may sit in the SEC cellar with a 1-7 mark but still ranks No. 75 in the NET ratings.

The Longhorns’ defense, which ranks just 113thĀ in the nation in Pomeroy’s defensive efficiency ratings, will have to stiffen if the team hopes to stretch Oklahoma’s losing streak to eight games. The dangerous guard tandem ofĀ Xzayvier Brown and Nijel Pack combine for 32.3 points and help the Sooners rank fourth in the SEC with 204 made 3-pointers while averaging 83.5 points a game.
