SPARKS, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — An 18-year-old man was arrested Sunday in connection with a shooting near Sparks.

According to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, Cesar Galindo was arrested and charged with deadly conduct and tampering with evidence after he reportedly admitted to investigators he fired a gun in the 800 block of Wake Forest Lane, near where Horizon Boulevard and I-10 intersect, and then later got rid of the firearm.

The investigation started when deputies responded to a shooting in the aforementioned area.

Responding deputies described not finding anyone involved with the shooting, but then said they found evidence of gunfire.

As they investigated the incident, the Sheriff’s Office said deputies found a vehicle connected to the shooting and surveillance video.

Then, as the investigation continued and people were questioned and search warrants were served, investigators identified Galindo as a suspect.

According to jail records, Galindo was booked into the El Paso County Downtown Jail under a combined bond of $45,000.

The Sheriff’s office is also asking the public to call them at 915-832-4408 if they know anything regarding this incident.
