FORT WORTH – Kathy Lee Smith, 76, of Fort Worth, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on January 24, 2026. She was born on December 26, 1949, and lived a life marked by faith, service, and deep love for family, friends, and community. Kathy was a proud graduate of Bridgeport High School, Class of 1968. Answering a lifelong calling to care for others, she went on to attend the Denton County School of Nursing, graduating with the Class of 1977. Kathy devoted 45 years to the nursing profession, serving with compassion, skill, and unwavering dedication until her retirement in 2022. Her career was not just a job, but a ministry of healing and comfort to countless lives. A woman of strong faith, Kathy was Baptist and a faithful member of Normandale Baptist Church in Fort Worth, where she found joy in worship, fellowship, and serving alongside her church family. Kathy had many interests that brought warmth and joy to those around her. She loved cooking and baking for others, quilting with care and creativity, and gathering people around the table. She was a devoted fan of SEC football and never missed an episode of College Game Day, faithfully cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide every Saturday. In 2003, Kathy married Mark Smith, and together they made their home in Fort Worth. Their marriage was one of love, faith, and companionship until Mark’s passing in 2025. Kathy remained steadfast in her faith and devotion, cherishing the life they built together. Kathy Lee Smith will be remembered for her gentle spirit, servant’s heart, and unwavering faith. Her legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to others will live on in all who were blessed to know her. Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Smith in 2025; parents, James Wendell (J.W.) and Nelda Fay (Holland) Davidson. She is survived by daughters; Jennifer Taylor Wilson of Chico, Amy (Darry) Morgan of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Lilly (Preston) Baker of Bowie, Ava and Grant Morgan of Fort Worth; great grandchildren, Jaxon and Presley Baker of Bowie; brother, Pete (Cyndie) Davidson of Amarillo; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
