LITTLE ROCK, AR (KATV) — Two former Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders, Christy and Wendy, recently shared their experiences and memories during a visit to Little Rock.
The duo expressed excitement over Kelly Finglass’s sold-out appearance at the Little Rock Touchdown Club, where they were also honored with their pictures displayed.
Christy, who just returned from an alumni weekend in Dallas, described the thrill of performing at halftime with cheerleaders from different decades. “It was great, a little sore,” she said, adding that each decade had its own routine before joining the current cheerleaders for a final performance.
Wendy reflected on her journey from Little Rock to Dallas, where she became a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader at 18. “It was four years of the best,” she said, noting that she met her husband through the Dallas Cowboys and eventually moved back to Arkansas.
Both women emphasized the strong sense of family among the cheerleaders. “The girls were family,” Christy said. “It doesn’t matter what year you cheered or how long you cheered, everyone is a family, and it’s just so much fun. And it’s just a sisterhood that you can’t imagine.”
For aspiring dancers, Wendy advised, “Just go for it. You might not make it on the first time, but just go for it and do not give up your dream.” Wendy added, “Hard work pays off. Keep at it.”
The cheerleaders’ visit was a nostalgic trip down memory lane and a source of inspiration for young dancers dreaming of the big stage.
