Authorities on Sunday closed several lanes of Interstate 45 near downtown Dallas after a big rig caught fire, according to Texas Department of Transportation officials.

The incident occurred around noon at I-45 and Main Street, according to TXDOT. As of 3 p.m. Sunday, it appeared that traffic was moving again in two of the interstate’s lanes.

Flames and black smoke coming from the vehicle were visible for miles but no injuries were reported.

Dallas-Fire Rescue spokesperson Jason Evans said the semi’s engine malfunctioned before it caught on fire.
