After a couple of years as a food truck, Richie’s Hot Chicken took the plunge in 2024 and opened up its first brick-and-mortar location on Huebner Road. Now, two years later, the concept is once again flapping its wings into a new territory: Alamo Ranch.

A sign for Richie’s Hot Chicken appeared on a storefront in the burgeoning Alamo Ranch neighborhood, which was first pointed out by a member of the San Antonio Restaurants Facebook group. MySA visited the site to see if there were any indications of when people in the area could expect the restaurant to open.

The new Richie’s Hot Chicken is located in the same retail strip as other businesses like Trek Bicycle, Phở Việt SA and Coco Nail Salon. The windows of the incoming business were all papered over, limiting the view into the interior as renovation of the space goes on. The Richie’s banner was strung up above the front door with the concept’s instantly recognizable chicken mascot.

MySA sent an email to the business to ask for more details on when Richie’s Hot Chicken will launch in Alamo Ranch, but we did not hear back at the time of publishing. For now, customers can continue to visit the eatery’s location at 11224 Huebner Road, and we’ll continue to keep an eye out for when the business is ready to launch its next chapter.

Find it: 11310 Culebra Road, San Antonio, TX 78253
