The University Interscholastic League announced its biennial realignment Monday morning, grouping teams into their respective districts for the next two seasons.
Below is a look at the cutoffs for each of the classifications and the enrollments for the largest and smallest schools in the Dallas area and in Texas for the 2026-28 football seasons.
Class 6A: 2,215 and above (249 basketball schools, 249 football, 247 volleyball)
Class 5A: 1,305-2,214 (250 basketball schools, 246 football, 250 volleyball)
High School Sports
Class 4A: 550-1,304 (221 basketball schools, 205 football, 222 volleyball)
Class 3A: 246-549 (229 basketball schools, 204 football, 222 volleyball)
Class 2A: 105-245 (223 basketball schools, 205 football, 173 volleyball)
Class 1A: 104.9 and below (217 basketball schools, 159 football, 141 volleyball)
