Drivers who regularly use I-30 between Grand Prairie and Downtown Dallas should plan ahead over the next several nights. According to TxDOT, crews will be working along both eastbound and westbound I-30 between the President George Bush Turnpike and I-35E, with intermittent lane closures expected overnight.

The work will take place nightly beginning Monday, Feb. 2, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Thursday, Feb. 5. Instead of full closures, crews will use slow-moving operations, meaning lanes may close temporarily as work progresses along the corridor. That means drivers may face sudden slowdowns or brief stops even when traffic appears clear ahead.

This stretch of I-30 is a major connection between Grand Prairie and Downtown Dallas, so even overnight traffic can be affected, especially for those working late shifts, heading home after evening events, or commuting early in the morning. Drivers traveling through the area during work hours should allow extra time and stay alert for changing lane patterns, construction vehicles, and workers close to traffic. Using alternate routes such as I-20 or nearby surface streets may help avoid delays during the overnight window.

As always, conditions can change based on weather or construction progress.
