Brian Basaldua, beloved friend, son, brother passed away at the age of 58 after a courageous and long, hard-fought seven-year battle with multiple myeloma. Brian was deeply loved by all who knew him, and his presence brought laughter, kindness, and steadiness into the lives of many. He had a rare way of making people feel seen and valued, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched. Brian proudly served in the United States Army from 1988 to 1992, attaining the rank of Corporal (CPL) prior to his honorable separation. His service reflected his strong sense of duty, discipline, and commitment—qualities that defined him throughout his life. Following his military service, Brian continued his commitment to service by returning to Iraq and Afghanistan for five and a half years as a contractor, where he oversaw the maintenance and training of large vehicle fleets. During this time, Brian made many lasting friendships and earned the respect of those he worked alongside through his leadership, expertise, and unwavering work ethic. Brian was known for his humor, generosity, loyalty, and strong work ethic. He had a deep love for racing, spending time out at the lake, and rebuilding cars and trucks, passions that brought him both joy and peace. Whether lending a hand, sharing a laugh, or working tirelessly on a project, Brian approached life with authenticity and heart. He was the kind of friend you could always count on—steady, loyal, and true.
