The University Interscholastic League released district realignments for football, basketball and volleyball on Monday for the 2026-2027 and 2027-2028 seasons.
In December, the UIL released snapshot enrollment figures, along with conference and division cutoffs for reclassification.
The changes mean several schools will move up or down classes based on their student population snapshot.
Some of the highlights in North Texas include Aledo, Frisco Wakeland, Granbury and Red Oak moving up to Class 6A and Cedar Hill, DeSoto, Naaman Forest, Lancaster and Mesquite moving down to 5A. Moving from Class 4A to 5A are powerhouse Celina, Eagle Mountain, Frisco Panther Creek and Prosper Richland.
A complete list of realignments for football, basketball and volleyball is below. Alignments for other events will be released in the spring.
Class 6A
Moving up from 5A to 6A: Aledo, Buda Hays, Cedar Park, Comal Pieper, Crosby, Frisco Wakeland, Georgetown East View, Granbury, Killeen Chaparral, Lake Belton, Leander, Leander Rouse, Mt Belvieu Barbers Hill, PSJA North, Prosper Walnut Grove, Red Oak, San Antonio Southwest, San Antonio Wagner and Southwest Legacy.
Aledo and Granbury are both moving into District 3-6A and will play five of the Arlington high schools, along with Weatherford.
Frisco Wakeland is moving into District 5-6A with Denton Braswell, Denton Guyer, Lewisville, Flower Mound, Hebron, Marcus and Little Elm.
Prosper Walnut Grove is moving up from 5A and will join District 6-6A with Allen, Dallas Jesuit, McKinney, McKinney Boyd, Princeton, Prosper and Prosper Rock Hill. Dallas Jesuit is a private boys-only school and will not be listed in District 6-6A for volleyball.
Several other schools are moving up to 6A by request, including Edinburg, Edinburg Vela, Garland, Garland Lakeview Cent, Garland Rowlett, South Garland, Northside Health Careers, SA SW CAST STEM HS and Spring Westfield.

Class 5A
Moving down from 6A to 5A: Baytown Goose Crk Mem, Brownsville Hanna, Castroville Medina Valley, Cedar Hill, DeSoto, Fort Bend Dulles, Garland Naaman Forest, H Chavez, H Math Sci. & Tech, H Wisdom, Houston Northbrook, Killeen, Killeen Shoemaker, Lancaster, Manor, Mansfield Legacy, Mesquite, New Caney, Pasadena South Houston and Wolfforth Frenship.
Cedar Hill and DeSoto will now be in District 8-5A Division I, joined by Burleson Centennial, Cleburne, Lancaster, Mansfield Legacy, Mansfield Summit and Midlothian.
Mesquite is joining District 7-5A Division I with Crandall, North Mesquite, West Mesquite, Tyler, and Dallas high schools Adams, Sunset and White.
Celina is moving to District 4-5A Division II with Anan, Denison, Prosper Richland and five Frisco high schools, including Frisco, Emerson, Independence, Memorial and Panther Creek.
Moving up from 4A to 5A: Celina, Eagle Mountain, Fort Bend Crawford, Frenship Memorial, Frisco Panther Creek, Katy Freeman, LH Legacy Ranch, Nevada Community, New Braunfels Long Creek and Prosper Richland.
Moving up to 5A by request are: Austin Ann Richards, SA Great Hearts Monte Vista N, SA Young Women’s Leadership, San Antonio Fox Tech and San Antonio Houston.

Class 4A
Moving from 5A to 4A: Alice, Corpus Christi King, Corpus Christi Miller, Corpus Christi Moody, Dallas Spruce, Edcouch-Elsa, El Paso Andress, H Austin, H Carnegie Vanguard, H International, H Sterling, Jacksonville, Kaufman, Kerrville Tivy and Plainview.
Moving from 3A to 4A: Corpus Christi London, Hitchcock, Iowa Park, Ponder and SA Great Hearts Northern Oaks.
Great Hearts Forest Heights, Medina Valley Creek View, Tomball West are new schools added to Class 4A.
Moving up to 4A by request are: Brownsville Jubilee, Cumberland Acad, EP Young Women’s Leadership, EP Young Women’s STEAM, FW Young Men’s Leadership Acad, FW Young Women’s Leadership, Georgetown Gateway, Great Hearts Forest Heights, SA Great Hearts Northern Oaks, H Mickey Leland College Prep Acad, H Wheatley, Midland Young Womens Leadership, Uplift Hampton Prep, Uplift North Hills Prep, Uplift Summit Intl Prep and Uplift Williams Prep.

Moving down from 4A to 3A are Caldwell, Carrizo Springs, Cleveland Tarkington, Devine, Lorena, Sinton, Smithville, Sweeny and Wharton. Moving up from 2A to 3A are Hamilton, Mildred, Rio Vista and Schulenberg. UME Prep. Academy is a new school added to 3A. Moving up to 3A by request are: Anthony, Brownsville IDEA Sports Park College Prep, Dallas Gateway Charter Academy, Mesquite PTAA, SA Young Men’s Leadership, Tornillo, Trinity Leadership Cedar Hill and Waco Meyer.

Class 2A
Moving down from 3A to 2A are Banquete, Brady, Dilley, Monte Alto, Taft and Tulia. Moving up from 1A to 2A are Boys Ranch, Cross Plains, Hamlin, Munday. New schools added to Class 2A are Pathway Academy and Vanguard Van Gogh. The Texas School for the Blind was elevated to 2A by request.

Fort Hancock, Fruitvale, Graford, Iraan, Ralls, Sterling City, Whiteface and Yantis moved from 2A to 1A and Coupland Secondary School, Matagorda, Morgan Mill, Murchison and San Vicente are new schools added to 1A.
