Nearly two years ago, LubbockLights.com published candidate profiles in the race for Lubbock Mayor. Instead of campaign talking points, these stories were designed to give you a sense of who the candidates were as people. While we covered their ideas, the focus was more on a human perspective – their background, experiences and personal stories.
Readers responded with strong interest.
In this election cycle, LubbockLights.com is repeating this approach for four contested races in the March 3 Texas Primary:
Congress (Texas District 19)
County judge
County commissioner, Precinct 2
County commissioner, Precinct 4
We start with profiles of Curtis Parrish and Wesley Houck.
In addition to profile stories, we’ll publish a Voter Guide with a longer list of races. The deadline for candidates to send in answers for the Voters Guide is later this week. We’ll get it published prior to early voting, which is February 17.
