Have you ever gone inside a gas station and walked out a millionaire? One Central Texan did last week.

The lucky resident, who hails from San Marcos, purchased a second-tier, winning Mega Millions ticket from a convenience store in Austin, according to a Monday, October 20, news release from the Texas Lottery. The life-changing swipe happened at a U-Pak-M located at 11940 Manchaca Road, Suite 101, Austin, TX 78748.

Texas Lottery data shows the player left it all up to fate, taking a chance on a quick pick ticket. More than likely, they were mind-blown during the drawing on October 15 after realizing they matched five out of five white ball numbers without the bonus. The drawing numbers were 12, 22, 49, 57 and 58, and Mega Ball 19, according to the release.

The good fortune just kept on coming for this Hays County native.

“The randomly selected built-in multiplier number was two, which increased the prize from $1 million to $2 million,” the Texas Lottery wrote in the release.

On top of that, they were owed an additional prize of $28 thanks to the same ticket. It’s a good thing, because $2 million is just not quite sufficient, right folks?

Their winning marks the first, second-tier Mega Millions prize claimed in the Lone Star State since the game was refreshed in April. The person who purchased the ticket has chosen to keep their identity a secret, according to the press release.

If you feel called to participate, the next Mega Millions drawing occurs Tuesday, October 21, at 10:12 p.m. It is broadcast on the Texas Lottery’s website, but the real-life event takes place in Atlanta, Georgia. Locals have until 9:45 p.m. C.T. to pick up a ticket before the sales cut-off time.

The jackpot prize for this week’s game is $650 million. Should someone snag the right receipt, they’ll come into an estimated cash value of $304.1 million, the company’s website says.
