EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — The El Paso City Council has approved two contracts for a $66 million street resurfacing project over the next two years.

The initiative targets streets with the worst pavement conditions, aiming to improve ride quality and extend the lifespan of the roads.

Streets such as Sean Haggerty, Rich Beem, Cotton, and Executive Center are included in the 2026-27 Street Resurfacing List, selected based on pavement condition, pending utility work, traffic volume, and estimated costs.

Randy Garcia, Streets and Maintenance Department Director, said, “For years now, El Paso has been utilizing data-driven management processes to objectively prioritize streets for resurfacing.”

The Street Department is concluding the 2024-25 project, which invested approximately $38.7 million in improvements to residential streets and major roadways like Lee Treviño, Sunland Park, and El Paso Drive.
