UPDATE- 57-year-old Arturo Frias Moreno died after he was hit by a vehicle in Central El Paso Thursday afternoon, El Paso Police said.
Officers responded to the 300 block of W. Rio Grande Ave. Investigators discovered the driver of a vehicle was traveling west on Rio Grande Ave. when a pedestrian crossed in the path of the vehicle.
Authorities said the pedestrian did not cross at a designated crosswalk.
Frias Moreno was taken to the hospital where he died.
EPPD said the investigation continues. This is the 6th traffic fatality this year compared to 5 at this time last year.
