HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Deputies are looking for the suspects involved in the shooting and killing of a 17-year-old Thursday night.
Authorities say the shooting happened at an apartment complex in the Cloverleaf area on Uvalde Road near Woodforest Boulevard in east Harris County just before 5 p.m.
Deputies tell KPRC 2 News reporter Jaewon Jung that the 17-year-old was hanging out with a group of teenagers in masks and hoodies when an altercation broke out, leading to someone pulling out a gun and shooting him.
Then the group dispersed.
It is unclear how many people were in that group, or if the group had any relationship with the 17-year-old, but deputies say the group was seen leaving in a dark colored sedan.
“We’re gonna be canvassing the area. We’re going to be looking for surveillance video. We’ve got to be talking to witnesses. We gonna be canvassing in the apartments here to see if anybody might have seen something or heard something,” said Sgt. Sidney Miller with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
The 17-year-old was taken to a nearby hospital, but he was pronounced deceased from his injuries.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Harris County Sheriff’s Office or Crime Stoppers.
