Two pedestrians were killed and two others in a vehicle were hurt during a traffic crash Thursday evening in Dallas, according to a news release from police.

Police said at about 6:20 p.m. crews responded to a two-vehicle accident at Frankford and Coit roads.

Four people were taken to a local hospital, where two of them died, officials said. The other two people were listed in stable condition, authorities said.

According to a statement from Dallas Fire-Rescue, the patients who were hospitalized had been in vehicles while the two who died were walking on the street when the crash occurred.

The identities of the victims were not released by police. This is an ongoing investigation, the release said.

Police did not immediately say if they planned to pursue criminal charges as a result of the wreck.
