City of Lubbock Relaunches LBKAlert, Adds LBKInfo for All Non-Emergency Alerts

  • February 6, 2026

LUBBOCK, Texas (CITY OF LUBBOCK) – The City of Lubbock relaunched its LBKAlert platform with a new look on Friday, and different protocol for alerting citizens.

From now on, LBKAlert will only send urgent alerts that suggest an action be taken by the citizen (examples: take cover, evacuate, avoid an area, etc.). We have also added a color-coded system to the alerts.

For all other non-emergency alerts, the City has launched LBKInfo.

If you are already signed up for LBKAlert, you don’t need to do anything. You’ll continue to receive life-saving emergency alerts.

For all other information that used to be sent as alerts, like road closures, they will now go to the new LBKInfo Facebook page: facebook.com/LBKInformation

LBKAlert will now call from 806-853-5782. If you miss a call from that number and return the call, it will replay the most recent alerts in both English and Spanish.

For those subscribers that have previously unsubscribed, you may resume receiving emergency alerts by sending RESUME to 88911.

The City is implementing these changes as a result of research, best practices, lessons learned from other disasters across the nation, and listening to our residents about alert fatigue.

For anyone wanting to sign up for the new and improved LBKAlerts:

Subscribe at LBKalert.com or

Text LBKAlert or your zip code to 888-777

For alerts in Spanish, text LBKAlertES to 888-777
