Prime Materia at Meow Wolf Grapevine has a mind-bending bar experience.

Dallas has a number of trophies on the mantel for its wonderful bar programs. But the latest combines a mind-bending experience with storytelling mixologists.
The immersive art installation, Meow Wolf Grapevine, was named the winner of the IAAPA Brass Ring Excellence Awards for its food and beverage experience, which is offered as part of its Prime Materia exhibit.
Mewo Wolf is an arts and entertainment company with six locations across the U.S., including one in Houston. The company was named as the top immersive experience by Time Out in 2023.
Currently, the immersive experience at Meow Wolf Grapevine (located at Grapevine Mills) is Prime Materia, and it offers a watering-hole-across-dimensions experience. The sci-fi art space is hosted by a cast of characters known as Gizmo_Mancers, who act as both mixologists and storytellers, creating concoctions from digital code. Guests imbibe alchemical-themed specialty cocktails, mocktails and snacks.
The Brass Ring Excellence award from the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions is considered the most prestigious in the global attractions industry. Cheers, Meow Wolf.
“Prime Materia was designed to dissolve the line between storytelling and hospitality,” said Tommy Schatz-Thompson, creative director of Prime Materia in Meow Wolf Grapevine. “Every layer of the show experience, from the narrative environment to the menu itself, reinforces the idea that food and beverage can be an active part of world-building. This award recognizes how deeply that integration resonates with guests.”
Mind-Bending Cocktails and Snacks
The drinks are part of the immersive experience. You can sip and stroll.
Prime Materia opened in the summer of 2025 and is the company’s first in-exhibition food and beverage experience. This sip-and-stroll exploration allows guests to carry drinks as they uncover hidden passageways, interactive art, and story threads throughout The Real Unreal.
The award-winning menu includes a Rum Punch Brew with three juices and rum. The Overlocked Margarita is made with mango puree, pineapple juice, ghost pepper tequila and a Tajin rim. There’s a Cold Brew Tincture, a Haspheria Mule, and a Prickly Pear Essence with blue Butterfly Pea Powder, which changes color. You can also order premium liquors and some local craft beer (naturally, they have Celestial Beerworks).
For snacks, they have Popped Pixels, which is dill-and-white-cheddar popcorn. Kernel Panic is candied popcorn. And Pretzel Bits are Dot’s Pretzels.
We feel like it’s one of those gotta-see-it things. So just go.
General admission tickets start at $34 for adults and $19 for kids.
