People like Halloween candy the way they enjoy music genres, right? Some prefer the smooth jazz of Hershey’s or the punk-rock Crunch bars. Nobody likes the weird alt-pop Whoppers… that’s just a fact.

79403 is letting that canyon air get to them by preferring M&Ms above all else. To make things worse, Hot Tamales are one of the top-selling candies in this area of Lubbock… ew.

We get controversial now with 79401, as candy corn tops the list of favorite Halloween candy. The fact that Kit Kats and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups are the next top candies actually puts this zip code towards the top of my list. Good job guys.
Here we go, 79406 knows where the gold is. Snickers tops their list. Twix is next, followed by Hershey’s milk chocolate bars. Oh yeah, I know where I’m going trick-or-treating now… as an adult.

Finally for the northern zip codes of Lubbock, we get to 79416 which clearly has a type. Peanut M&Ms, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and regular M&Ms are the best-selling candies here. Oddly enough, Mike and Ikes are one of the local favorites as well.
South Lubbock Halloween Candy Faves
Now we get to bottom half of Lubbock, and we start with 79414. These guys know how to party with Black Forest Gummy Bears topping their list.

Get this, the only time Lemonheads shows up is in 79411, and Twizzlers pops up as one of the top candies in both 79413 and 79410. 79410 also harnesses their inner child with Nerds being another top choice.
So, there you have it. I know there are other zip codes in Lubbock, but these are the ones with the wildest lists.

Local Favorites: Peanut M&M’s, Crunch, Almond Joy Candy No Texas Kid Wants This Halloween Everyone has their own candy preferences, but there are some treats that most people would rather not receive during Halloween. CanvaCandy Corn It’s cute and it has fall vibes. but the taste doesn’t match the looks… Some may love this sugary sweet, but most would pass it up if there are other options
Walmart.com; CanvaBit O Honey I’ve maybe only had one of these and did not enjoy it. Considering trick-or-treaters should mostly be children, I don’t think this is a great go-to choice to give out…
Walmart.com; CanvaCircus Peanuts It’s true, that many kids love marshmallows, but these are rather odd with their banana flavor
CanvaCandy Buttons These are just hard candies on a sheet of paper that taste like nothing much. They may be fun to peel off, but eating them isn’t anything to write home about.
Walmart.com; CanvaDots Dots.. enough said.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve tried a Dot only to remember why I don’t like these super hard, odd-tasting gummies. And I’ve never heard anyone say they wanted some Dots Walmart.com; CanvaNecco WafersI haven’t had these, so I can’t say much. But according to Good House Keeping, they have been compared to a “thin puck of chalk.” No thanks
CanvaTwizzlers These are okay on occasion, but they really aren’t that great. And adding strawberry flavoring doesn’t do much.
If you can give away candy, why choose this for the kids?? CanvaRunts This candy is very appealing with its fun fruit shapes and bright colors, but don’t let that fool you! Runts aren’t something you can easily bite into and the taste doesn’t hold much resemblance to fruit flavors
Walmart.com; CanvaTootsie Rolls Okay, I actually do like getting Tootsie Rolls, especially the vanilla-flavored one. But I can also understand why others may not want to get this treat for Halloween — there are far better candies out there.
CanvaButterscotch CandyThis is yet another one that I wouldn’t mind getting. But again, I can see why some people wouldn’t want this.
It isn’t the most preferred candy, but I like to be able to savor things sometimes rather than quickly chewing. If you want people to know you as the house giving out the ‘good stuff on Halloween’ though, you may want to avoid butterscotch Walmart.com; CanvaBazooka Bubble Gum I haven’t had this gum before, but by looking at It I know I wouldn’t want it. It looks like some of that gum that has flavor for just seconds.
Canva
Red Hots Sweet and sour are the main go-to for Halloween, not cinnamon and spicy. I know adults who enjoy this candy, including me on occasion, but I’ve never seen a child go immediately for some red hots. This just isn’t the best candy to hand out on Halloween Walmart.com; CanvaMilk Duds I like the occasional Milk Dud. However, I’ll admit that sometimes they have an odd flavor to the chocolate and the hard caramel can be a lot to deal with.
Overall, this probably isn’t the best candy you could pass out during trick-or-treating, but it’s still a valid option. CanvaDum Dums I don’t know why Good House Keeping says Dum Dums aren’t good to pass out at Halloween, I and many others seem to love the tiny stickers. And when I’ve passed out candy in the past the kids always want more Dum Dums.
But if there are small children getting candy, I could see these being a choking hazard. CanvaPretzels Pretzels are well loves, but for Halloween, this isn’t the best treat.
Trick-or-treaters will be expecting sugary and sweet candies, not salty and savory pretzels that they may have often. CanvaSaltwater Taffy Yet another candy I enjoy… However, this is a candy I want to pick out myself, not receive a random. Only some of the flavors are really good while others are pretty bad. So as far as Halloween candy goes, this isn;t the best to pass out.
CanvaHamburger Gummy I remember loving these as a kid purely because I watched Spongebob and they were marketed as ‘Krabby Patties.’ Today, I’m not sire how popular Spongebob really is, so these have probably lost some appeal, and they never really tasted very good.
