HOUSTON – Ground stops that had been issued for Bush Intercontinental Airport as well as Hobby Airport have been lifted.
According to the FAA website, both ground stops were due to issues with staffing.
The ground stop at Hobby was scheduled to go until 5:45 p.m., but it was lifted several minutes early. The ground stop at Bush lifted shortly before 6:30 p.m.
Houston Airport System officials confirm the ground stop at Hobby was due to staffing issues.
The FAA released this statement on the staffing issues:
“As Secretary Duffy has said, there have been increased staffing shortages across the system. When that happens, the FAA slows traffic into some airports to ensure safe operations.”
