SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A man is dead after he was hit by a train on the North Side Tuesday evening.
San Antonio police say they were called to the corner of Wetmore Road and Broadway at around 6:15 p.m.
That’s where they found a middle-aged man who had been severely injured. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say he was walking on the tracks and was on a bridge as a freight train approached.
The man’s name and age haven’t been released and SAPD detectives are working with the train company during the investigation.
Officials remind everyone that walking on train tracks is not only dangerous, it’s illegal and is considered trespassing.
