EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A woman has died after being hit by a vehicle in the Lower Valley over the weekend.
The Special Traffic Investigations Unit responded to the incident on the 7800 block of North Loop in El Paso on Saturday.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Ana Maria Paniagua, a 57-year-old El Paso resident, offered to drive 62-year-old Aurora Morales home.
As Morales was changing seats, the 1999 Ford F350 began to roll backward, striking Paniagua.
She was transported to the hospital, where she died.
The DWI Task Force was called to assist with the investigation.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact the Special Traffic Investigations Unit at 915-212-4080 or the nonemergency number at 915-832-4000.
This marks the seventh traffic fatality in El Paso this year, compared to six at the same time last year. The investigation is ongoing.
