The City of Houston Solid Waste Management Department (SWMD) announces an adjusted curbside collection schedule in observance of Presidents Day. Curbside services and facility operations will follow the schedule outlined below. Residents whose regular collection day falls on Monday should place their trash and recycling carts out for collection on Tuesday, Feb. 17. Residents whose regular collection day falls on Tuesday should place their carts out for collection on Wednesday, Feb. 18.

There will be no changes for residents who receive Thursday or Friday collection. Those residents should place their containers out on their regularly scheduled collection day.

Monday, Feb. 16, 2026 (Presidents Day)
