CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A full closure of IH 37 will begin Friday, Feb. 20, at 9 p.m. and last through Sunday, Feb. 22, at 9 p.m., between Staples Street and N. Chaparral Street. 

Harbor Bridge Project officials said the weekend-long closure is required to safely remove overhead bridge spans as part of ongoing demolition work.

Construction crews will use jackhammers and transport materials from the site. Vibration-monitoring devices will be in place to ensure safety during demolition.

Drivers are urged to plan ahead, follow detour signs, slow down in work zones, and use alternate routes when possible.
