A massive new Mexican restaurant is coming to the South Side neighborhood near Stinson Field late this year, a state regulatory document shows.

The owners of concept called Hacienda Grill, plan to build the 5,000-square-foot eatery at 4849 Roosevelt Ave., a plat that currently houses Cocula Jalisco Mexican Seafood, according to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing

Construction on the $1.2 million eatery is expected to start next month and wrap up in late December.

The Current was unable to reach Hacienda Grill’s owners, listed in documents at Jose de Jesus Fernandez and Norma Alicia Herrera Fernandez, for comment on the plans.
