H-E-B recruited a Texas native for its new Super Bowl commercial.
The San Antonio-based company’s ad ran during the third quarter of the Seattle Seahawks blowout win against the New England Patriots. Two players with ties to Fort Worth’s Como neighborhood played in the Big Game.
After teasing the Super Bowl ad with several short baby-centric teasers, H-E-B released a minute-long ad to celebrate one of the grocer’s most coveted items — tortillas.
🔥 In case you missed it…
H-E-B’s Super Bowl ad
Houston native Jim Parsons, known for “The Big Bang Theory,” voiced the tortilla-obsessed baby yearning for the buttery treat.
“Week 32 of living, I still have yet to try the coveted buttered tortilla,” the baby says. “So, I mean, have I really lived?”
Several missed connections are seen along the way as the baby reaches and crawls towards a stack of tortillas.
Just when he thinks his tortilla time will never come, his mom tears one into small pieces. His little hands reach for a thin strip. Mission accomplished.
“Now, if I just had something to smother it in,” the baby says as the ad cuts to someone taking H-E-B queso dip out of the oven.
H-E-B in North Texas
H-E-B has rapidly grown its footprint in Tarrant County over the years.
The company has a location in north Fort Worth in the Alliance area, and is planning a second Cowtown store in the Walsh area along Interstate 20. A Mansfield store opened in 2023, and a location near the Bedford-Euless line will open later this year.
H-E-B recently purchased land in south Fort Worth. The company also bought land in Wise County last year.
