What’s your favorite scary movie? Nothing says Halloween season like a good, cozy horror movie. While you surely nestle up on the couch and watch movies at home, remember that’s there’s safety in numbers – lest the monsters, slashers, and other scary foes crawl out the screen and attack. If you’re hoping to watch scary movies in Houston on the big screen, here are the theaters to do so!

1. Rooftop Cinema Club

Houston’s premier rooftop theater is the center of scares this October, screening horror movies all month long. In a social environment, complete with a bar and concession vendors, you can watch horror flicks with an impeccable Houston skyline backdrop. Throughout the month, the venue is screening the following movies:

2. Moonstruck Drive-In

Located in East Houston, Moonstruck Drive-In is a central drive-in cinema that allows theatergoers the classic experience in the middle of the city. With Houston skyline as a backdrop, the drive-in theater is screening The Black Phone 2 as well as Beetlejuice this week. Screenings for next weekend have yet to be announced.

6. Discovery Green

On October 25, Discovery Green is set to reprise its beloved Halloween tradition of Scream on the Green. Heights & Co. is transforming its central patio into a spooky cinematic haven for its beloved Halloween movie nights! Guests are invited to cozy up by the fire to enjoy classic seasonal films, screening every night until November 1, complete with fireside-prepared s’mores, a full dinner menu, and specialty themed cocktails crafted just for the occasion. Don’t miss this limited-run, festive event!

The Cursed Cauldron is back from the crypt and now on at its new home at Botanica. If you’re hoping to watch horror movies in an atmosphere straight out of a Wes Craven movie – with a few sinister sips on the side, the Cursed Cauldron at Botanica is where to do so. On Sundays, the pop-up hosts its Pumpkin Paint & Sip Movie Nights. Its next screening, set for this Sunday, October 26, will feature a screening of Hocus Pocus. On November 2, movie-goers can enjoy a special Sugar Skull Paint & Sip with a screening of Coco.
