The skies are forecast to rain on the love train this weekend.

After some lighter showers Tuesday night, Dallas should get a few days of sunshine before heavier rain is expected this weekend. According to the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office, rain chances are expected to pick up Friday evening.

Thunderstorms are possible throughout Friday night and Saturday, but the weather service isn’t certain yet if severe weather threats will be present. Significant rainfall is expected with 1.75 inches of water forecast to fall at DFW International Airport.

A cold front is expected to follow the rain, and temperatures are expected to drop to the upper 60s or low 70s at the start of next week. These temperatures are still above normal for mid-February, and the weather service said another warming trend is on the horizon for next week.
