EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A man died after being hit by a vehicle in central El Paso on Wednesday afternoon.
The incident happened on the 300 block of W. Rio Grande near Sunset Heights.
The incident occurred when a 2014 Audi Q7 struck 57-year-old Arturo Frias Moreno.
According to the preliminary investigation, the vehicle was driving west on Rio Grande when Moreno crossed in front of it, not using a designated crosswalk.
Moreno sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital, where he later died.
This marks the sixth traffic fatality in El Paso this year, compared to five at the same time last year.
