Hays County deputy arrested for public intoxication, placed on administrative leave

HAYS COUNTY, Texas — An off-duty sheriff’s deputy with Hays County was arrested for public intoxication on Tuesday, deputies said.

According to the Hays County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Victor Guajardo was arrested by the Kyle Police Department in the 100 block of Kennicott Drive in Kyle, Texas.

Deputy Guajardo, assigned to the Patrol Division, was reportedly off duty at the time of the incident. He has been placed on paid administrative leave pending an internal investigation, the sheriff’s office said.

The Hays County Sheriff’s Office Office of Professional Responsibility is conducting an internal administrative investigation, which will run concurrently with the criminal investigation.
