It’s unclear how long the remains were in the portable restroom near the intersection of Ruiz Street and Hamilton Street, only a few blocks away from Daikin Park.

HOUSTON — Houston police are waiting to find out what happened to a person whose remains were found in a porta-potty just a few blocks from Daikin Park in downtown.

The discovery was made on Tuesday around 3:15 p.m. along Ruiz Street near Hamilton Street.

Houston police officers said they got a report of skeletal remains that were found in the portable restroom, and when homicide detectives got there, they confirmed the remains were human.

Investigators said they won’t release the identity, gender or cause of death for the person until an autopsy is conducted by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
