AUSTIN, Texas — A 41-year-old man dies 10 days after being struck by a car while riding his bicycle in Downtown Austin.

Austin police responded on Saturday, Oct. 11, at 7:27 p.m. to a collision involving a bicyclist and a vehicle in the intersection of Guadalupe Street and Denson Drive.

The bicyclist, later identified as Paul Wuersig, was transported to a hospital with head trauma. Unfortunately, Wuersig was later pronounced dead on Tuesday, October 21, at 11:08 a.m.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene, was not impaired, and cooperated with the investigation.

This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 79th fatal crash of 2025, resulting in 83 fatalities

The investigation is still pending.
