Raising children in North Texas can feel overwhelming — even when everything looks fine on paper. As the region continues to grow, many families say the pressure is mounting in ways that aren’t always visible.

The Dallas Morning News is launching a reader survey as part of a project examining how affordable parenthood is in North Texas — and where families feel the biggest strain.

The survey, which takes about one to two minutes to complete, invites parents and primary caregivers to share their experiences with child care, pediatric and mental health access, cost of living, long commutes and other everyday challenges.
