EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — UTEP Cheer is hosting its 18th annual cheerleading championship Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Don Haskins Center.
The championship features competitors ranging from all-star teams, recreational teams, and cheerleading squads from the elementary, middle school and high school levels.
Morning awards are scheduled for 11:10 a.m., followed by the afternoon session for school performance cheer, beginning at 11:55 a.m.
Grand champions will be rewarded with a banner and 10 complimentary registrations for the 2026 UTEP Summer Cheer Camp.
At last year’s championship, Eastwood High School won the Game Grand Champion title, and Chapin High School won School Grand Champion.
Registration opened on Jan. 5, with fees ranging from $300 to $500, depending on when teams registered and the category they would perform in.
