LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – One man is in the Lubbock County Detention Center after a Valentine’s Day SWAT standoff in Hockley County.
According to a Hockley County Sheriff’s Office social media post, deputies responded to reports of multiple shots fired in Anton. Deputies were given different addresses until arriving at a house on the 600 block of Maurer St.
When they arrived, deputies found 52-year-old Carlos Buitrago inside his house shooting outside. Other agencies including the Lubbock Police Department helped in getting him out of the house.
Officers then saw the garage door at his house open and Buitrago tried to leave the scene in his car. An officer was able to get the car to stop and he was arrested at the scene.
