Pedestrian dies after being hit by vehicle in north Austin

AUSTIN, TX — A pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle in north Austin last week has died, police said.

Emilio Gonzalez, 23, was hit by a vehicle around 8:22 p.m. Oct. 14 in the 1100 block of West Parmer Lane, according to the Austin Police Department.

Gonzalez was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead in the following days, police said.

The driver remained at the scene, was not impaired and cooperated with the investigation.

The incident marks Austin’s 76th fatal crash of 2025, resulting in 80 fatalities, police said.
