Join El Paso Matters and the El Paso Community Foundation March 9 for a conversation with Jazmine Ulloa, New York Times reporter and El Paso native, as she returns home to discuss her new book:
“El Paso: Five Families and One Hundred Years of Blood, Migration, Race, and Memory”
El Paso Matters CEO Robert Moore and Ulloa will examine what led her to write this book exploring the rich — and often misunderstood — history of El Paso, weaving together deep reporting, personal narrative and decades of lived experience on the U.S.–Mexico border.
In her book, Ulloa charts more than a century of migration, power, conflict and hope by following five families whose stories reflect the larger forces that have shaped this border city.
