EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — This weekend, the Concordia Heritage Association is hosting a fundraising event at Concordia Cemetery in El Paso.
Families can learn about Dia de los Muertos and the significance of an ofrenda, with proceeds going toward the upkeep of the historic cemetery.
“It’s very important to keep your loved one alive with memories and stories because what they say is you want to be always remembered,” said Louie Zamorano, a board member of the Concordia Heritage Association. “And that’s what Dia de los Muertos is about.”
The event will feature vendors, food trucks, and live music. It will take place Saturday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
