SAN ANTONIO — A man was arrested in connection to the 2019 fatal shooting of a teen at a gas station on Wednesday.

The San Antonio Police Department identified Jeremiah Williams, 25, as the suspect arrested for the murder of 19-year-old George Ramos.

George Ramos’ mother Jessica Ramos says she has been waiting for this day for years.

“I ask God to forgive me every day because I can’t forgive you for taking my everything from me,” Jessica Ramos said. “When you murdered my son you also took my husband and myself with him.”

In June 2019, Ramos was found shot to death at the intersection of Les Harrison and Culebra Road on the Northwest Side. At the time, all investigators had to go on was surveillance video of a suspect vehicle fleeing the scene.

An arrest was made in 2019, but the charges were later dropped. Police also called on the public for information, posting an $11,000 Crime Stoppers reward for information in 2020.

A break in the case finally came in January 2024, when the investigation was turned over to SAPD’s cold case unit. Investigators were able to match the license plate to Williams along with more evidence that led detectives to consider him a person of interest.

Since 2019 the family has been wanting justice, they’ve been wanting answers, it took some time, it’s not like the tv shows, it’s not like the movies, where in 48 hours they find something and the case is closed. These detectives continued thoroughly to investigate these cases,” SAPD Public Information Officer Ricardo Guzman said of the investigation.

Williams was taken into custody without incident on the city’s West Side and questioned by police. Investigators said he is the only suspect believed to be involved in this case.

“The detectives continued to work through it and today they were able to bring justice and closure to that family,” Guzman said.
