MUSTANG RIDGE, Texas — A 63-year-old truck driver was found dead in his vehicle at a Mustang Ridge truck stop last week, police said.
Mustang Ridge Police Department officers responded to a welfare check at approximately 8:21 a.m. Oct. 14 at the Pilot Flying J gas station at 10700 N. U.S. Highway 183, according to the department.
A trucking company had requested the check after the employee had not been heard from in more than 24 hours, which was reported as unusual, police said.

Officers found a semi-truck parked at the location with the engine running and air conditioning on. The man was found unresponsive in the sleeper cab area of the truck.
Emergency medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene at approximately 9:56 a.m., authorities said.

No immediate signs of foul play were observed, police said. An autopsy and toxicology testing have been ordered to determine the cause of death.
