Thursday afternoon, Overtime announced new athlete and celebrity partnerships for its Dallas-based OT7 7-on-7 league.
Cincinnati Bengals star receiver Ja’Marr Chase, Los Angeles Rams star receiver Puka Nacua and rapper Gunna will join the OT7 league in varying capacities. Gunna, an Atlanta-based rapper, will lead the Wunna Warriors, a Texas-based team launched in 2025 and will be headlined by North Crowley safety John Meredith III, the top prospect in Texas for the Class of 2027.

Joining Meredith are area standouts Argyle receiver Julian Caldwell and the Dallas Morning News’ 2025 Newcomer of the Year, Trey Wright, from Frisco Lone Star. Wunna will make its OT7 debut this season.
Chase is founding “Team Uno” out of southern California with notable west coast prospects and Nacua will coach an unnamed team out of his home state of Utah. Ohio State 2027 quarterback commit Brady Edmunds and Arizona State wideout commit Nico Bland will play for Chase’s Team Uno while Oklahoma junior EDGE commit Krew Jones and four-star prospect Bode Sparrow will play for Nacua’s team.

OT7 is currently entering its fifth season and kicks off March 21-22 at Dallas College Mountain View Campus.
“Season 5 is an inflection point for OT7,” said Hunter Mandel, General Manager of Football at Overtime in the press release. “What started as a new way to play has evolved into a true platform — one that brings elite players, coaches, and partners together while driving real growth on and off the field.”

Alumni of OT7 include Carnell Tate (Ohio State), Makai Lemon (USC), Dante Moore (Oregon), Jeremiah Smith (Ohio State), Bryce Underwood (Michigan).
